We just got a confirmation from @MuscleNerd that they have three different methods to unlock the iPhone 4! He states that:
We think we have 3 different ways to unlock once inside BB (the 3rd way was first to fully work for @planetbeing !)
The developer @planetbeing, also noted for his Lynux-Android on iPhone, uploaded a YouTube Video demonstrating his solution. In the video he explains why he worked so hard to develop this Unlock. He wanted to use the “commitment free” iPhone 4 he got from the US in his home country, Canada. He also explains that it is not yet ready for a release, as the process is complicated and takes him five minutes to complete.

I know how all you first gen iPhone and iPT users were feeling when you heard your not gonna get any upgrades from now on (cause I feel the same with my iPT 1G) but thanks to Matteo Morando and Fredrico De Angelis who started the Whited00r project which will enable all the updates given in 4.0 on the first gen iDevices (includes multitasking and folders and a few more tweaks).
The way this works is what the whited00r team did was modify a 3.1.3.ipsw to have all the features that apple added to the 4.0.
This project is still in beta and I dont advise to try unless you have alot of experience in jailbreaking hopefully we’ll have a video tutorial on how to use the whited00r project soon.

Just wanted to let people know what is possible;
In some countries outside of the U.S., you may lose your ability to use data if you upgrade to iOS 4.0. There is a fix, see below.

Just saw this was confirmed on the Mobile entertainment site that you can now submit you iOS4 apps to the appstore and Steve Jobs said 95% of the apps will be accepted within a week of submission (depending on the amount of apps submitted).
So all you developers should submit your apps to the appstore so they’ll be up for download on the day of the official iOS4 release.
