Kryptonite is a really sleek theme for your iPhone or iPod Touch. I contacted Flybritn, the theme developer, to request a copy of the theme for an exclusive iYoshiblog review. He sent us the theme, and the next day I made a YouTube video review. Click “Read More” for screenshots, and the video review. Read more…

Many already know that @comex released a Mobile Safari based jailbreak. This new Jailbreak works for all devices on the current firmware. (3.2.1, 4.0, 4.0.1)

The jailbreak is just as simple as Blackra1n or Spirit, with only one action required by the user. You simply visit the site and “slide to jailbreak” then just sit back and let it work it’s magic. I Skyped iYoshiblog team member @xsn0w soon after the release and he answered with a very happy tone,
“I am Jailbroken”
He jailbroke his iPhone 4 with this method immediately following the release, and was relieved he could finally get his tweaks and themes back in use. He confirms that this solution works extremely well on an iPhone 4. Read more for more information and full instructions on how to use this method to jailbreak iOS 4.

I have been trying to get iFile running on my iPod touch 2g ever since I installed iOS 4. I did some research and found the weirdest fix ever to get an incompatible version working. According to Jaxov, if you have iFile 1.2.0-1, this is the fix for you. Even if you have iFile 1.3.0, this tip should work. Read more…

One of my favorite developers who releases useful software is known as @notcom. He developed the ever-popular “Firmware Umbrella”, now known as “Tiny Umbrella” (A combination of Tiny TSS and Umbrella). The Firmware Umbrella is, well as its name implies, an umbrella of protection on newer iDevices Such as a 3gs, iTouch Mc, iPad, and iPhone 4, allowing you to downgrade to firmware for which your “SHSH” hashes have been saved.
All of these devices have a special feature that Apple has implemented that prevents users from downgrading the normal way in iTunes. With the “ECID” Apple has implemented, it asks Apple’s servers to verify the restore and provide a specific file (the SHSH) that allows iTunes to decrypt the firmware and install. By verifying this way, Apple can guarantee that a older firmware can not be restored to say, an easily exploitable firmware. Luckily there are several ways of getting around this, but all of them are very time sensitive. Read more…
