Podulo Hacked Again?

July 9th, 2010 xsn0w No comments

This is to let our readers know that Podulo may have been infiltrated once again. This time, not just the website, but the entire database has gone missing. The repository, including Cydia Packages, Descriptions, even users email and account info, have dissappeared.

Podulo Repo Hacked

Podulo.com official twitter account @podulo has been updating followers to the situation,

Email accounts, databases, everything is gone. We’re building it all back up, this may take awhile.

Officially no back ups for the Depiction database. We’re at a stump as of right now. More info soon.

SBRotator Used, Reviewed, Enjoyed.

[ad#Google Adsense-1]Finally, I have a Jailbroken 3GS again, thanks to Spirit. I am now able to stay up to date on the latest packages. I have not been able to use Cydia much since February and was excited to check out all the new content, and I am happy to say I found exactly what I was looking for!

SbRotator makes iPhone an iPad nano!

SBRotator is a package by Elias Limneos that I have wanted since I first became an iOwner when I got my iPod Touch 2G the week they came out. This package allows the springboard to Auto-Rotate and also lock vertically or horizontally if you chose. I prefer landscape orientation and I have set up many iNav and KRS themes to try and get this effect. SBRotator is available for $1.99 from BigBoss and is also available on Podulo.com’s Amazing Repo for Free!

I have tested this app and every setting for the past two days and I have some helpful hints:

1. This package uses a lot of ram. This will cause poor performance on older devices (iPT gen 1,2 iPhone gen 1,2) and will even cause a bit of a lag on startup for an iPhone 3GS and iPT gen 3. If you are playing music while rotating, the music may pause for a second.

2. The best way to reduce the Ram usage is to disable background rotation and chose a wallpaper that looks good on its side.

3. It also seems to work better on my device with background behavior set to “stretch or “use wide them” if you do want the background to rotate.

4. The “Wide Theme” for the background and dock actually change .png’s during a rotation to landscape, this is really cool. The wide dock is a mac looking dock and the wide image is a closep of a butterfly. The settings also take effect immediately and don’t require a respring. You should be able to change these if you want as well with iFile. They are located in /System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app, if you feel inclined to change the wide dock or image, replace “Dock-wide.png” or “Wallpaper-wide.png” with an .png of the same dimensions.

This is the default .png for the Wide theme dock and background

5. The orientation lock appears in the status bar. Deactivate “Show Switch Popup”, these become annoying!

I do not know if this package is compatible with iPad, but there should be no reason to need it! I hope you enjoy this Package and Review, for questions find me on twitter @xsn0w.

Podulo Repo

The Podulo website was hacked as I said in a earlier post. They have also stated that the repo was not comprimised, only the website. All content is safe to use (at your own risk of course)! I just wanted to notify the community that this great source has returned as both a website and repository at podulo.com.   Add this source in Cydia and enjoy their free themes, apps and mods.   They “strive so that you, the user, will never have to add another Cydia source again.”

Podulo is our top reccomendation to the community, but if you are looking for even more sources check here.

Podulo.us HACKED!!!!!!!! (Updated)

March 3rd, 2010 yoshi 8 comments

Podulo.us Website was compromised by S4udi h4ck. It turns out that only the website was hacked, and not the Cydia Repository, but the repo was also been disabled (apparently by Podulo) We miss this repository, and the community it had worked hard to foster. Here’s hoping they can protect their content, change domains and return to providing the great products we all love.

UPDATE: check out this post http://iyoshiblog.com/index/2010/03/21/podulous-back-up/ with the update about Podulo (there new website and repository url is podulo.com)
