[ad#Google Adsense-1]Finally, I have a Jailbroken 3GS again, thanks to Spirit. I am now able to stay up to date on the latest packages. I have not been able to use Cydia much since February and was excited to check out all the new content, and I am happy to say I found exactly what I was looking for!

SbRotator makes iPhone an iPad nano!
SBRotator is a package by Elias Limneos that I have wanted since I first became an iOwner when I got my iPod Touch 2G the week they came out. This package allows the springboard to Auto-Rotate and also lock vertically or horizontally if you chose. I prefer landscape orientation and I have set up many iNav and KRS themes to try and get this effect. SBRotator is available for $1.99 from BigBoss and is also available on Podulo.com’s Amazing Repo for Free!

I have tested this app and every setting for the past two days and I have some helpful hints:
1. This package uses a lot of ram. This will cause poor performance on older devices (iPT gen 1,2 iPhone gen 1,2) and will even cause a bit of a lag on startup for an iPhone 3GS and iPT gen 3. If you are playing music while rotating, the music may pause for a second.
2. The best way to reduce the Ram usage is to disable background rotation and chose a wallpaper that looks good on its side.
3. It also seems to work better on my device with background behavior set to “stretch or “use wide them” if you do want the background to rotate.
4. The “Wide Theme” for the background and dock actually change .png’s during a rotation to landscape, this is really cool. The wide dock is a mac looking dock and the wide image is a closep of a butterfly. The settings also take effect immediately and don’t require a respring. You should be able to change these if you want as well with iFile. They are located in /System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app, if you feel inclined to change the wide dock or image, replace “Dock-wide.png” or “Wallpaper-wide.png” with an .png of the same dimensions.

This is the default .png for the Wide theme dock and background
5. The orientation lock appears in the status bar. Deactivate “Show Switch Popup”, these become annoying!
I do not know if this package is compatible with iPad, but there should be no reason to need it! I hope you enjoy this Package and Review, for questions find me on twitter @xsn0w.
